Strategic planning is part of the strategic management. It focuses on the identification and development of new/future profit potentials, as well as the maintaining of current profit potentials. Strategic planning substantiates the determined strategy so that it can be implemented. This is done through setting strategic objectives, resources and measures and activities. Unlike the principle decisions of normative strategy, these decisions are time-bound.
