Trust – and in its last instance dependability and predictability – is one of the principles of effective management and thereby a fundamental ingredient for effective management. Motivation and performance can only develop on a solid basis of trust. Only a strong basis of trust between employees, colleagues and superiors can lead to a sound management situation. Without this, managers cannot be effective.
