BWL and management are not the same. They differ in terms of their subject, their focus and their scientific foundation. BWL is focused on the functional tasks and the functions and functional areas of organisations. Financial aspects are most important here. The various sciences of business are their foundation (i.e. economics, HR etc.).

Management, on the other hand, is concerned with the problems of the overall management of organisations. Its tasks are to ensure the viability of complex systems. In order to do so, it is based on the findings of cybernetics.
