Regulation

Together with supervision, regulation makes up the concept of steering. Regulation becomes necessary, when a system is in danger of leaving its set course, or has already done so. In such an instance, regulation acts as an informal feedback loop, i.e. a comparison between the AS-IS and the TO-BE situation. In terms of feedback, regulation ensures the closure of a (management-) cycle in terms of information.
